Longmore Flower Estates is a leading, independent South African flower producer that specialises in unique protea and strelitzia hybrids that are in short supply on world markets. The Madiba,Mandela's Gold and Radebe Sunrise are some of the exciting varieties grown and supplied by Longmore.
The estate is situated in ideal protea and fynbos growing conditions on mountain slopes in the Thornhill region of the Eastern Cape near the city of Port Elizabeth. Longmore Flower Estates is a black economic empowerment company that had a unique and inspiring beginning.
Today Longmore supplies cut flowers, bouquets, plants and seeds to markets in South Africa and Europe. Longmore has also launched satellite flower skills training programmes aimed at empowering previously disadvantaged farmers. The Longmore team is also behind a proposed Eastern Cape flower trail. Strelitzia reginae (“Mandela’s Gold”) Yellow Bird of Paradize
Longmore Flower Estates is the largest grower of this beautiful yellow strelitzia. Longmore supplies seeds and plants. The Strelitzia seeds are sold in packs of 500 at a seed price of R3.75 each. Also available are 2kg and 4kg plants.
